Smt. Anjali Dalabehera is the sole earning member in her family. She belongs to Banarpal block of Angul district. With agricultural land, of only 15 decimals, she was looking for diversifying into other economic activities. With almost a decade long association with the livestock development programme supported by Odisha Govt. and implemented by BAIF there has been a significant improvement in her socio-economic status.
Helping women gain access to services, new technologies (sorted semen) & improving their working conditions are ways that ensure maximum benefits. Keeping this in mind, exposure visits & training sessions were planned that focus on women participation. Anjali regularly participates in dairy training sessions for good cattle management practices.
With an input cost of Rs. 50,000, she is able to get returns worth Rs. 1,62,000, making for a strong RoI. Anjali is happy with the services provided & she plans on expanding her herd with 30 cows in future.
